The day began inside the house at Just the Place, where the air was filled with excitement and lots of laughter. Seriously, Morgan had an amazing crew of girls by her side on her wedding day! I had the opportunity to capture the details that made this wedding unique, from the classically styled invitations and sparkly rings to the pretty pink bridal shoes. Morgan’s breathtaking, modern gown from Luv Bridal and the professional hair and makeup by talented Jessi Benson all worked together to create the perfect bridal look for Morgan.
Before the ceremony, Morgan shared emotional first looks with two important fatherly figures in her life. The bond between a daughter and her dad and step-dad are truly special. I am so happy Morgan had two loving, supportive, wonderful men to walk her down the aisle. Morgan also had a heartwarming first look with her bridesmaids, who couldn’t contain their excitement to see her glow in her wedding attire. I mean, can you blame them? Before the ceremony, I managed to check in on the guys as they got ready – I could tell Simon could hardly wait to marry the love of his life! You could feel the wedding buzz in the air!

As Morgan walked down the aisle, accompanied by the two men who have cared for her unconditionally, Simon waited for his bride at the altar. Adding to the charm of the ceremony, their adorable dogs made a delightful appearance as flower girls. The ceremony struck the perfect balance between heartfelt emotions and joyful laughter, which would carry over into the reception!

Following the ceremony, we captured some stunning portraits and group photos while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour at the barn. The bridal party got some time together for photos before we all headed over to start the reception.
Morgan and Simon made a grand entrance on the patio just outside the barn, illuminated by romantic string lights as the sun began to sink lower in the sky. Their first dance as husband and wife was such a sweet moment, embraced by the warmth of the May sun and a gentle breeze that saved us all from being too hot. Morgan’s cartwheel in her wedding dress was impressive. Simon got himself a woman that can earn that doctorate (just a few weeks before the wedding, get it girl!) and do a cartwheel in her wedding dress… honestly what more could he want?

Morgan surprised everyone by switching into a glittery jumpsuit, showcasing her style and personality. To say I was in love with the outfit switch was an understatement. The evening continued with dinner, a fun dollar dance, and an open dance floor that invited everyone to celebrate with drinks and whatever moves you had. The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.

Morgan and Simon took advantage of golden hour with me, when I whisked them away for some dreamy sunset photos in the open field behind the reception area. Against the backdrop of a green, glowing landscape, their excitement to finally be married radiated, capturing the essence of their beautiful day. The calmness of the grassy area paired with the distant sound of music and laughter at the reception made an amazing last few moments to end my night on.
Morgan and Simon’s wedding at Just the Place was a beautiful celebration of love, filled with unforgettable moments, deep emotions, and a party to close out the night. From the first looks to the first dance and beyond, this day will forever hold a special place in their hearts (and mine too)! I feel honored to have been a part of their journey, from capturing their engagement session on KU’s campus to the beginning of their lives together as husband and wife! Morgan and Simon’s love story is just beginning, and I have no doubt that their marriage will be filled with endless happiness and adventures.
Congratulations Morgan and Simon! I am so incredibly thrilled for you! Cheers to the Stephensons!
